People book you before they book the service.

Four women who are their own business. A coach, a cosmetologist, a trainer and a nutritionist. Each one needed photographs that look like her on a good day at work, not like a stranger in a suit.

Most people tense up the second a camera appears, and most people do not see themselves the way everyone else sees them. Both of those are my job, not yours.

Life and career coach

Someone books a coach when something is stuck and they have to say it out loud to a stranger. They look at her face first and decide whether they can. So these are photographs of her listening, not smiling on cue.

Cosmetologist

Her clients are handing over their face to her. That is a lot of trust to give a stranger, and it gets decided from a photograph. So she looks unhurried and precise, never rushed, and her hands are in the frame in most of the set. Hands are what people are quietly checking.

Fitness trainer

Nobody hires a trainer because of a photograph of a gym. They hire the person who makes them believe they will actually turn up on a Tuesday in February. So we went outside in the last hour of light and kept her moving.

Nutritionist

People only take this kind of advice from someone they trust, and they decide about trust long before they message her. It is not about looking like an expert. It is about looking like someone who will not judge you. So she is warm first: open, unhurried, easy in her own body. Suits for the pages where she needs to be taken seriously, activewear for the ones where she is showing you how, and one frame where she is clearly not taking herself too seriously.

How a session works

We agree what the shoot is for and pick a date.
I build a moodboard and send references, so nothing on the day is a surprise.
We plan the outfits together and choose where to shoot, outdoors or a studio I book.
We shoot. I tell you what to do the whole way through.
Your private gallery arrives within about two weeks, usually sooner.

15 fully retouched photographs
30 more with colour grading, ready for social media
help shaping the idea and the mood before the day
outfit planning, so the whole set holds together
direction on the day, so you are never left standing there wondering what to do with your hands
